Out but In

We'd been working on the finishing touches of our basement way past dinner time and bed time. Jeremy has some money on his card for the restaurant at work called Friendly's and suggested we drive over there for dinner. The kids were really excited and told him they wanted a hamburger and some ice cream. Jeremy called ahead to see how busy they were and they were really busy so he suggested we drive up and around the corner to Wendy's get dinner and come back and eat it at home.

You would have thought the whole world was about to end if you had listen to Adee go on and on and on and on (remember past dinner AND bedtime). So I suggested we come back home and light a candle and drink from straws (highlight) and have ketchup (HUGE for Baker-you say dip dip and he is all over it) with our dinner and that fixed everything.

So we get home Baker immediately opens his hamburger, eats a few bites of the side with only a bun, then eats all the fries he was given, then picks up the raw onions from his hamburger and eats them. (We thought that was really wierd, does anyone else?)

Then Jeremy asks the kids if they know what a pioneer is. She replied promptly that yes, she did know that pioneers are turtles. Jer looked confused. (He hasn't seen Franklin's Vacation which is a movie about Franklin the turtle going on vacation to a place where he and his family lived like a pioneer for a week. He had to milk the cows, carry a candle around, chop wood and things like that.) So, Jer learned a little about pioneers and so did the kids. That was our exciting night out but in.
