Family Portrait

Well, Adee has created her first family portrait. I couldn't get it to scan so I had to do it Popsy style: take a picture of a picture. I have the circle hair (curly) on the right which by the way she told me in a sweet voice the other day,
"Mom, your hair is messy." I responded quickly with
"Are you sure it's messy, or just a little crazy."
She said, "yeah, just really crazy."

Well, there you have it. Enough about me, Jeremy is the littlest guy on the left, (sorry Jer). Baker has the really long pink spikes for hair, which he requests every Sunday when I start buttoning up his dress shirt.
Then Adee is the largest in the middleish.
You may notice all the detail she puts in her drawings: ears, fingers, arms, legs and BUMS. Ahhhhhhh! Yes BUMS.
When I asked her what is this pointing to the circle in the middle she said "It's a bum."
So I said dumbfoundedly "Oh, uh, we usually don't draw bums."
"Why?"
"Because they are private and we don't want everyone to see them"
"Oh. Then I'll draw some undies over it."
So now she draws bums with undies over it.
I'm trying the ignore it trick, I'm hoping she will stop and SOON!

  1. Hi Erin!
Sheldon and I found your blog through Brandy's and Autie's. Your kids are dang cute. It's fun to read about them. I couldn't help but comment on the "bum" post. Preston (4 years old) is obsessed with bums lately. Whenever he dances, it's a bootie shake. He walks around singing "shaky bum bum" (no, he is not exposed to music with those lyrics at our place!) and is just generally interested in the backside! I don't know where it comes from! I too, try the ignore it tactic, but sometimes I break and he gets a small lecture about privacy and appropriateness :)

    Good luck!
